Introducing the ground- breaking initiative of the Jindal Society of International Law,” Sovereignty on Screen: An international Law Perspective”. This innovative venture aims to transcend conventional methods of legal discourses by harnessing the power of cinema to delve into the intricate realms of International Law. Through meticulously selected films, this initiative seeks to provoke thoughtful discussions and illuminate diverse facets of international legal principles.

“Sovereignty on Screen” promises a captivating exploration of complex legal concepts, offering a unique blend of entertainment and education. By leveraging the narrative richness and visual storytelling of cinemas, this initiative aspires to engage audiences in a dynamic dialogue on global legal issues.

From examining the nuances of state sovereignty to dissect the dynamics of transactional disputes, each screening will provide a thought- provoking lens through which to view intricacies of International Law. Through post- screening discussions, led by esteemed board of the Jindal Society of International Law, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding and exchange insights on the intersection between law and cinema. 

With “Sovereignty on Screen” the Jindal Society of International Law embarks on pioneering journey to redefine the boundaries of the legal education and fostering a deeper appreciation for the complexities of our interconnected world. Join us as we embark on this cinematic exploration of International Law.

'Sovereignty on Screen: International Law Perspectives'. As part of this initiative, we aim to explore and discuss various aspects of international law through the lens of captivating films.

 

We are excited to kick off this series with the screening of the movie 'Independence Day' (1996). The film, known for its thrilling narrative and iconic moments, providing an excellent platform to delve into discussions surrounding the concept of sovereignty, the role of international law in times of crisis, and the implication of global cooperation.
